Because I'll be starting a new chapter of my life in mere months, I've changed the look and the title of my journal.

The title is a nod to our soon-to-be home.

The look has nothing to do with anything, except my love for books. I might still change it yet. I like the butterflies layout. ETA: Obviously, I switched. The books layout wasn't...bookish...enough for me.

The default icon will stay for now. I do still live in Europe, after all. I will probably change it once we move.

Have a different mood theme too. Still trying to decide if I like it.

haha! You're a lot like me in that way. I dress everything up for either seasons or events. It's just fun.

I hope you got everything you wanted out of your European Experience. I know that had you been closer, I would have loved to have gone exploring with you. I have a feeling it would have been a better time, considering your background and level of....intelligence :X

Good luck in the days to come!

I have to admit, I didn't do nearly everything that I wanted to do. But I did a lot more than some people, so I should be happy with that. I'm sad I didn't spend more time in England, or ever went to Scotland or Wales.

Another thing I'm sad about is that I wasn't able to get together with my LJ friends who were also in Germany (either natives or stationed here like me)...the only one I got to meet was [livejournal.com profile] knightchik, and that was only for a few hours in Maastricht. But it was a great time, nonetheless.

I think we would've had a lot of fun traveling together. I'm a pretty laidback traveler...I don't like rigid itineraries or traveling in large groups, but get 2-3 of us together who have a sense of adventure and a love for good food, and we'd have a good time. ;)

Ugh...something about that first paragraph I wrote makes me cringe. I wish LJ allowed us to edit comments. HAHA.

So, did you find yourself ?

I think I did. Ask me again once we move to Oklahoma. A lot of things will be lost. ;)

Maybe you can use that Poe layout I used to have for mine. I recall it had a strong positive reaction from you. :D

This is true. I do so love Poe. I did a pretty large undergraduate project on The Raven.

That would be a good Halloween layout, actually.

I never did a project on The Raven, but in 7th grade English we had to memorize and recite a poem in front of the class and I chose The Raven. Pretty much got an A by default because of the length of it.

I should say. Kudos to you for memorizing it! I had issues just trying to memorize a Dickinson poem for a class once. How lame am I?

It depends on how much you like the poem, I guess. If it's a poem you're not really feeling, then memorizing it isn't going to be the easiest thing.

I don't particularly like Dickinson, so memorizing one of hers wouldn't be as much fun as memorizing Poe or Anne Sexton.

Yeah...not a Dickinson fan here, either. I used to be a much bigger poetry fan than I am now. I was all about Wordsworth and Coleridge and Keats.
