prosodicJust curious to see how my answers will be different in about a year from now.
1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?
Donkey milk soap...a geranium scented one for the shower, and a raspberry scented one for the tub.
2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?
I never do. I eat it if someone brings it to a picnic or if it's on a buffet or something, but I don't like it well enough to buy it.
3. Is there anything moldy in your refrigerator?
If I knew about it, I would have thrown it out by now. Although we have 4 bottles of Leffe beer that's past its expiration date (that Lance's thing, not mine).
4. Are there any dirty dishes in your sink?
My tea mug and a couple of water bottles.
5. What would you change about your living room?
Right now it's too brown. The walls are beige. The couch is brown. The La-Z-Boy is brown. The IKEA furniture is brown. The carpet is brown. At least when we own our own house, I can use some color on the walls. Also, I'm not a fan of the wildlife prints we have on the walls. Lance brought them into our marriage, and he won't part with them. I want some original art for the walls...something nobody else has.
6. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
Dirty.
7. Do you have a can of mushrooms in your pantry?
No. On the rare occasions I eat mushrooms (I love them...Lance doesn't), I just buy a few large ones in the produce section, chop them up, and sautee them.
8. White or wheat bread?
Wheat bread if it's a loaf. White bread if they're rolls (as in brotchen - German rolls, preferably with sesame or poppy seeds) or baguette.
9. What is on top of your refrigerator?
Paper plates, napkins and plastic cups
10. What color is your sofa?
As I mentioned before, brown.
11. What color or design is on your shower curtain?
We have a glass door...well, it's not actually glass. Plexiglass?
12. How many plants are in your home?
Seven - I think. One in the master bath. One in the dining room. A mini tree in the entryway. 4 cacti in our office.
13. How many candles are in your home?
Too many to count. But I hardly ever get to light them, because Lance is convinced I'm going to burn down the house.
14. Is your bed made right now?
Making the bed is the first thing I do when I get up.
15. If you have a coffee pot, what color is it?
I have a tea pot, which I've never used. It's yellow. I need to invite someone over for tea.
16. Electric or standard can opener?
Standard...cuts clean edges.
17. Theme in your living room?
I'm not sure there is one...we have some patriotic stuff in there, though. I don't feel that rooms necessarily have to have a theme, as long as everything works together.
18. Colors in the bedroom?
Sage green and aqua are the dominant colors. Mostly dark woods.
19. Comet or Soft Scrub?
Mr. Clean Antibacterial. If I need to scrub, I use an old toothbrush.
20. Is your closet organized?
Mostly. The shelf at the top isn't. Don't even ask me about Lance's. (We don't have closets...we have wardrobes.)
21. What color is the flashlight that you use the most?
What an odd question. We use whatever one we can find first. We have one that's blue.
22. What kinds of things are in your junk drawer?
Leftover bits from IKEA furniture, tools, the typical odds and ends most people put in junk drawers.
23. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
Glass.
24. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?
I have Crystal Light pink lemonade. I'm not an ice tea fan.
25. If you have a garage, is it cluttered?
Yes. And filled with spiders.
26. Curtains or blinds?
Rolladins that roll down on the outside. Curtains inside (in some of the windows).
27. How many pillows do you sleep with?
We each have two, but I only use one.
28. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?
Sometimes a nightlight. More for Lance than for me. I prefer pitch blackness when I sleep.
29. How many ceiling fans are in your home?
Two. Lance installed them himself. He was quite proud.
30. How often do you vacuum?
Not as often as I should...but only because I have to keep lugging the stupid transformer and cords around, which are a pain. I get to it about once every 2 weeks. I dry mop the tile floors more frequently than that (we only have carpeting in our bedroom and the living/dining area).
31. Standard toothbrush or electric?
Standard.
32. What color is your toothbrush?
Fuschia
33. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?
We have a mat. It doesn't say "Welcome" or "Willkommen" or anything on it. Actually, it sheds and makes quite a mess.
34. What is in your oven right now?
Nothing at the moment, except some crusted on junk at the bottom. I'm not going to worry about it, on account of us moving soon and we'll hire a professional to clean when we move out.
35. Is your microwave clean or dirty?
Relatively clean.
36. Is there anything under your bed?
Boxes of stuff.
37. Chore you hate doing the most?
Wow...what don't I hate? Vacuuming. It wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't have 20 pounds of equipment to schlep around just to plug the damn thing in. This will no longer be an issue once we're stateside. I also hate folding laundry...and ironing. I NEVER iron. Lance is good at it, so I make him do it. ;)
38. What retro items are in your home?
I don't believe I have anything retro, unless you count my 50's costume that I wore to the sock hop in January. Lance probably has some stuff. Oh, he has a Transformer on his desk...does that count? Maybe not, because they're popular again.
39. Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?
Yes, although we share it. In our next home, I really must have my own space. It will have wall to wall bookshelves, a comfy spot for reading, and a good desk, preferably something old, sturdy and well-loved.
40. If you have a yard, who mows it?
Lance mows it. It's a miracle if I can manage to even start the lawn mower.
41. Is there anything on your kitchen floor right now?
Probably some crumbs. Everyone always compliments me on how immaculate the house is, but THERE ARE ALWAYS CRUMBS!
42. How many mirrors are in your home?
A full-length in our bedroom, one in the half bath, 2 in the master bath (4 technically, but 3 of them put together create a full-length), one hanging in the hallway, a couple of hand mirrors...
43. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?
Not really.
44. What color are your walls?
Beige. Everything is beige.
45. Which rooms in your house have wallpaper?
The office...and it's peeling. The rest of the house is wallpapered too, but the wallpaper is painted over.
46. Do you have a peephole in your front door?
We don't need one. Our front door is one huge window.
47. Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?
A baseball bat? That works in a pinch, right? Chef's knife, I suppose.
48. What does your home smell like right now?
I don't think it really smells like anything.
49. Fave candle scent?
Depends on the season. Pumpkin/apple/cinnamon scents in the fall, pine scents in winter, floral scents in spring and summer.
50. What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
None. If I buy them, I can't stay out of them. Same with olives.
51. Who are in the pictures you displayed?
Us, family, our SIL's dog (our niecelet), my parents' dog (my brother...hehe), my best friend, Lance's two best friends
52. What color is your favorite bible?
I have one bible and it's paperback...multi-colored. I keep it around more for scholarly purposes than any religious reasons. You'd be amazed how handy it is when you're studying literature.
53. Do you have plenty of cabinet space in your kitchen?
Yes! That's one of the reasons we took this house.
54. Do you own a stereo?
Yes. One downstairs and one in the office.
55. How many tvs do you have?
Only one we can watch right now...two packed up in the basement that don't work in Germany.

Three. They came as a set. You can call the other house phones from each one.
57. Do you have a housekeeper?
That would be me.
58. What style do you decorate in?
I personally tend to like the eclectic style, which is a hodgepodge of everything that is put together very well. That is not, however, the style in which I decorate...mainly because most everything in this house, decor-wise, came from Lance. He's from the "it's a picture, so I'll hang it on the wall" school of thought...he doesn't care about aesthetics.
59. Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints?
I tend to go solid and neutral. I'm starting to change my thinking on that. People are too afraid of color and prints.
60. Is there a smoke detector in your home?
Yes.
61. In case of fire, what are the items you would grab if you only could make one quick trip?
My photo albums.
62. Do you know how to work your electrical box?
Considering that we're always blowing fuses here...yes.
63. What temperature in your home is most comfortable to you?
Sleeping temperature - around 68 degrees. I like it a bit warmer than that in the day...72 or warmer. I'm always cold.
