Saturday Stuff

prosodicWe have our flight to Seattle booked. Lance brought home the itinerary last night.
The night before we leave, we'll be staying at the Radisson SAS at Amsterdam Schiphol. I'm really excited about this, because Lance requested the Ibis, but the Ibis was booked, so they put us in an even better hotel. I am not going to complain! Especially since we're not paying for it!
We don't particularly like the flight schedule though. There are nonstops from Amsterdam to SeaTac, and that is what we requested. But they scheduled us from Amsterdam - Washington Dulles - SeaTac. And we got to the seat request on the Amsterdam - Washington Dulles leg, and all but the middle seats in the middle rows were taken. So we have horrible seating arrangements too. Not well pleased.
At least it's the last time we'll be doing this trans-Atlantic flying. I don't intend on it being my last time *ever*, but it will be for awhile.
Anyway, we finished our grocery shopping today. I was stupid and forgot to put the shopping list in my purse before we left, but I managed to remember everything...well, except for one item, but forgetting that is no big deal. We didn't have a lot to buy. At the commissary, I saw a guy in his Ohio State gear, wearing a hat that said "Fear the Nut"...I was giggling endlessly. I love it!
I am also in my Ohio State gear as TODAY IS THE BIG SMACK-DOWN WITH MICHIGAN! I love my Buckeyes, but I'm not placing any bets on this game. We are both coming from losses last week and we're both angry, but Michigan has more reason to be pissed off than we do, since they have lost 3 games this season and we only lost one. And it's been 3 or 4 years since their last win against us. And they have the home field advantage. Lance has been asking me to speculate on the game, and I am not even going to do that. I'll listen on the internet and root for my team, but I'll be gritting my teeth through most of the game. I think it's going to be close.
Just been looking at the job boards again...seems almost a pointless exercise. There is *NOTHING* out there that is perfect for my education and experience level. It's so frustrating.
Working at home sounds better and better all the time. I'm getting closer to making a decision about signing up as a writing coach through Write at Home, and the more I think about it, the better an idea it seems. I just wanted to work outside the house for a change because I need interaction with other people. I don't want to live my life like a hermit. Besides, how am I supposed to meet people if I work at home? But if I do decide to go that route, I'll probably pick up a part-time job somewhere. I keep perusing the job listings at the local community colleges...one has a campus at Kent Station, just 10 minutes from our house...hoping an administrative-type job opens up that I can apply for. The PCS gods have been smiling down on us for the most part (with the exception of the car), so hopefully the right job will come along at the right time. It's still early yet.
