When we were negotiating on the house, our agent tried to fight for the refrigerator. It was going to be removed from the house before we moved in, but he thought since we ended up paying more than the asking price, that we should get the fridge as a consolation prize.

Well, the fridge has been removed from the house. We were prepared for that, and had one already picked out from Sears, one very similar to the one that was in the house.

But our agent sent us an email...he knows a guy that has a 5 year old fridge, very like the one that was in the house, for $380. Do we want it? And if we do, our agent and his team will pay for half. It will be delivered on the day we close (which isn't really ideal, since we wanted time to paint the kitchen first, and the fridge will be in the way...but we'll work with it).

That will save us A LOT of money. So we'll probably get it, provided it works well and doesn't eat up too much energy. Our plan was to get an Energy Star compliant fridge and I wanted one with a filtered water/ice dispenser in the door. But this should suit us for now until we are prepared to get something better.

I just think this is a really nice gesture by our agent.

I hope the refrigerator is a nice one for you. It sounds like a good deal.
