Jan. 21st, 2008 07:33 pmIt's weird that I'm getting ready to go to bed soon, and it's not even 8 pm. I stayed up until about 1 am last night and slept in until 9:30 this morning. Such luxuries won't exist for me for the time being.
Hehe.
Anyway, has anyone seen the latest adaptation of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey? It was on PBS last night. Still trying to decide how I feel about it, but it's been awhile since I've read it and it's not my favorite Austen novel anyway. I guess it was an enjoyable enough way to spend 90 minutes.
Today was a pretty full day. Lance and I did some stuff around the house. The projects are never-ending, of course, but at least we knocked a few off the list. I made turkey alfredo pizza for dinner, which was pretty tasty.
That, for those interested, was just a Pillsbury pizza dough, which I pre-baked for about 5 minutes (I sprinkled garlic powder and Italian seasoning on it first) topped with about half a jar of Parmesan Garlic sauce (Ragu brand), browned ground turkey (which had been cooked with minced garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper and more Italian seasoning), and an Italian cheese blend and more parmesan. And I put mushrooms and caramelized onions on half of it for me. And then I baked it some more.
We have leftovers for the next 2 days, so I don't have to worry about dinner again until Thursday night.
In other news, my mom called me today, very excited because a Great Blue Heron was sitting on her roof. She even sent me pictures to prove it. She came home from work and let Buck out and he stood there and barked and howled at it for ages, until Mom came out to see what Buck was freaking out about. The bird was nonplussed, and continued to sit there for awhile, at least long enough for Mom to take a few pictures.
It's a good thing I start getting groggy this time of night. I think I'll read for a bit and then call it a night. Alarm is set for 3:15 AM. Tomorrow's commute might be a little harrowing. Icy conditions are expected overnight.
