Guess whose husband is leaving in just over 2 weeks to train in Oklahoma City for 2 months?

Of course, we knew this was coming, but we didn't know exactly when. The date was set yesterday. I am not happy. We are still not settled in.

But I almost feel like I have no right to complain. A lot of military wives have it A LOT worse than I do, including my own sister-in-law. So I feel selfish and petty for complaining.

The only thing I can do is try to make a list of projects I can do by myself while Lance is gone, and then work on completing them. Stripping wallpaper in the guest bath will be the next project, although I can't really paint until the light fixture is removed, and I don't know how to do that, nor do I know how to install a new one. And I'm not going to ask Lance to do it on his last weekend here at home.

And of course, getting a job would be nice...so I have something to do during the day and people to talk to. Plus, there's earning a paycheck, which is always good.

He won't lack for people to hang with. A lot of his friends ended up there.

I'll be okay. Things could always be worse. I just have to remember how bad it was when we were only a few days married and he had to fly back to Germany and leave me behind in the US for 2 months. That sucked. But we survived it, and we'll survive this.

It won't be the last time he's gone this long, I'm sure. He'll probably be gone longer at some point.
