Forty-six hours
Apr. 11th, 2008 05:58 pmToday started out like any other day.
Except the weather is gorgeous.
I agreed to join some of my co-workers for the MS Walk this weekend, and I registered for it and everything. I texted Lance, even though I knew he was flying, just to let him know that I was going to be out on Sunday.
I got a text back from him at lunch. He said he just got off his flight and asked me how my day was going.
"Better," I responded, "now that I know for sure that you flew."
"Your day is about to get even better," he texted back.
"How do you know?"
"Because I am coming home tomorrow."
I almost fell over.
Yeah, it seems that there is a 3 day weekend for Tinker AFB, so his boss decided it would be cheaper to fly him home for the weekend, rather than keep him there and paying for his lodging and per diem, etc.
He has been holding out on me. He's known since Wednesday that he was coming home tomorrow morning, but he wasn't planning to tell me about it until he was in Denver on his layover.
But then he figured, since I was making pretty significant weekend plans, he better let me know.
So I'm not doing the MS Walk. My co-workers were very understanding.
And tomorrow, I will be picking up my sweetie at the airport for 2 days of bliss.
And then Monday, I drop him back off at SeaTac. Thankfully, management is allowing me to come in a bit late to work. "Family first," they said.
Forty-six hours. I'll take it.
