Apr. 19th, 2008 05:05 pmI'm having a very busy day, household drudgery-wise. So I'm tired. And the constant back and forth between rain, snow, ice pellets and bright, blinding sun isn't helping.
Anyway, went to McChord to do the grocery shopping. Stopped in at the Exchange first, as I usually do. Nothing there. They had a good sale on wine, but as I didn't want to go through the line only to purchase that, I didn't bother.
Does anyone know...is White Shiraz a sweet, semi-sweet, dry or semi-dry wine? I can drink anything but dry.
I stopped at the food court and had lunch at Robin Hood, which is basically like Subway. Grilled chicken pizza sub, which wasn't really like I imagined it to be, since it was a cold sub with pizza toppings and warm grilled chicken in it. Would've been better toasted, really.
Between the base exchange and the food court, I got distracted by the vendors. Well, one in particular. I spent quite a bit of time talking to this artist and looking at her stuff. She had magnets, greeting cards and prints all made from handmade paper, pressed flowers, shells and feathers. I bought a couple small things from her.
I did my grocery shopping and spent more than I have lately, on account of Lance coming home this week. In anticipation of my own trip and his being here alone, I got him some really easy meals...a tub of Manwich (it was a lot cheaper than buying a can of Manwich sauce and hamburger), a couple packages of chicken cordon bleu, spaghetti and 2 jars of pasta sauce...he has several quick and easy dinner options since I can't be here to cook for him.
I also got the fixings for a few meals we'll have together before I leave. I promised him a belated Easter dinner, so I got a ham steak and a couple slices of lemon meringue pie for dessert. :)
Anyway...came home. Put away groceries. More drudgery...blah blah blah. Called Lance. Read a magazine for a bit. Called my parents because Grandma and Aunt Sue are visiting for the weekend and I wanted to talk to them.
Now I'm having dinner: an Italian-style veggie burger, spinach sauteed with sundried tomatoes in oil and garlic (topped with black pepper and parmesan cheese), and whole grain garlic flavored rice.
Tomorrow, I must go to the gym. MUST GO. MUST GO. It's ridiculous how having a sit-down job is causing me to gain some weight, and so quickly too. And it's not like I don't park my car fairly far from the building or take the stairs. But I don't think a lack of exercise is the problem as much as what I've been eating lately.
