Books I've Read Lately...

prosodicI haven't had a book post in awhile. While I'm not really reading anything at the moment (with the exception of Jon Katz's Katz on Dogs), I have read some really good books in the past month.
On the flight to Rochester: The Rossetti Letter by Christi Phillips. Especially appreciated if you have been to Venice.
During Rochester: The Year of Fog by Michelle Richmond. I was completely engrossed in this novel and found it hard to put down. Also The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho - a very simple story with a very important message about how to live your life.
On the flight from Rochester: The Secret Bride by Diane Haeger. Historic fiction about the secret marriage of Henry VIII's sister Mary to Charles Brandon. If you like Philippa Gregory, you will probably like this. I actually didn't like this quite as well as Philippa Gregory, but it held my attention very well.
I really need to start reading something else. I have two more books to read for review.

This afternoon, Reece snuggled with me on the couch for a nap. It was really sweet.
We were going to take her to the park, but we stopped by Lance's friend's house on the way and ended up staying almost 3 hours. Reece was playing with their dog Wedge, who is about 1/4 Reece's size and has the mentality of a large, dominant dog. It was really fun to watch them together. Reece was really reluctant at first, and then she started standing her ground against Wedge.
I'm really bummed that this weekend is going by so fast. I am really dreading work on Tuesday because it's going to be a complete madhouse.
