Weekend Recap
Jun. 15th, 2008 06:25 pmIt's been a mostly relaxing weekend, which is exactly what I needed after the week I had.
Nothing of note really happened yesterday, other than Lance taking me to Azteca Mexican Restaurant for dinner. I planned on us going to Kouros Kuisine, which serves Italian and Greek food, but when I took Reece on her walk yesterday afternoon, she got sick several times. And I was worried about leaving her alone too long if she was still sick (although she seemed fine after we got back). So to play it safe, we stayed near home and had Mexican. It was good. I had a large strawberry margarita, seafood enchiladas, fried ice cream. Lance had cheese enchiladas.
There was no birthday celebration here. For that, I was greatly relieved.
Today was not a day to sleep in. Reece got me up at 6 am. But I was pleased to see that it was sunny and stayed so all day. It was also warm.
I went to Target this morning to pick up some food and my prescriptions. After lunch, we took Reece to Petsmart, where we registered her for the puppy class starting on Friday night.
We tried to walk her on the Green River Trail afterwards, but she wasn't being cooperative. Lance is trying to train her to walk alongside us, not ahead or behind. But she wasn't being too receptive today. We didn't go far.
Most of this afternoon was spent reading/napping. Lance was in the office working on a course that he has to complete before he goes to Cisco training tomorrow. Reece napped with me.
For dinner, Lance grilled burgers. I made some very good roasted fingerling potatoes and corn. We ate al fresco. The only really annoying thing was keeping the fuzzy cottonwood seeds out of our food. They are particularly abundant right now.
I had one perfect, gorgeous red rose on my rose bush, which I cut off and put in a bud vase before Reece could find it and eat it. I have two rose bushes - one pink and one red - and the pink one has several buds on it. The red one doesn't produce much. I hated cutting it off, but it was so perfect and beautiful and smelled so good. And Reece loves eating my roses.
