Interesting day...
Aug. 8th, 2008 09:33 pmNothing really noteworthy at work today...things were slow. Projects got done. I didn't have to worry about decorating Sondra's cubicle because the guys took care of it. She should be afraid...very very afraid.
I had my blood test this morning before work. Got a little snack pack afterwards: a breadsticks with dipping cheese snack pack, fruit snacks, a fruit juice box and a granola bar. They also passed out hardback copies of The Mayo Clinic Plan.
Sigga and I went out to lunch and I pulled into the little strip mall with the Greek restaurant (which, I might add, was very much open last week) and found it closed with a for sale sign in the window. But a chinese restaurant was next door, so we went there instead. The food was cheap, plentiful and very very quick, but I can't recommend my sesame chicken. The sauce was tangy rather than sweet. Still, I would go there again and try something else.
After work, I ran off to the stores to do some shopping. Picked up a baby shower gift at Babies R Us, poked around Old Navy, and stopped in World Market to spend the few bucks left on my gift card. I got a bottle of organic balsamic vinegar and some Twinings English Breakfast Tea.
Then off to Panera Bread for dinner...Greek (!!) salad with wholegrain baguette...finally got my Greek food.
After dinner, it was about time to get Reece from day camp, so I picked her up and we walked around that strip mall and then did some laps around Petsmart to kill time before her training.
Training went well, except we had our nutrition class. Apparently, Lance and I are feeding her nothing but crap...there is no nutritional value in her food whatsoever. We have just been feeding her what she's been eating since before we even got her. But Lance and I talked after class and we're switching brands. We'll gradually wean her off this.
We also need to get her off rawhides and replace them with bully sticks or rings.
Anyway...home now. Watching the opening ceremones of the Olympic games. I missed most of the interesting parts. The parade of nations is going on now. What's with all the bagpipe music? You'd think the games were taking place in Glasgow or something.
