prosodicWe had a loud thunderstorm around 3 am this morning, which cooled things off considerably. Great, because I think I actually suffered from a mild case of heat stroke yesterday.
It was still pretty warm today, but not nearly as bad as predicted. Lance and I spent our morning going to McChord to stock up on groceries.
At 3, we met Rich and Kathy for a picnic at Lake Meridian Park. It was insanely crowded and took us forever to find parking spaces, but we managed somehow to find spots for both cars.
We spread out a tablecloth under some nice shade trees and enjoyed a simple meal of sandwiches, chips, coleslaw, peach cobbler and chocolate chunk cookies.
We walked the dogs and Rich took their son to the playground. Lance got Reece to splash around in the lake for a bit.
After that, we went back to their place for a couple of hours to just hang out and talk. I think I'm finding a kindred spirit in Kathy.
Anyway, I'm in the office and I feel isolated. Lance is trying to install Linux on my laptop and it's not working properly now, so until he fixes the problem, I'm back on my PC. I want to join him and Reece out in the living room to watch some Olympics.
I'm feeling much more optimistic about life right now. Even though tomorrow is Monday. Lance is back. We have two wonderful friends. And we're making some great plans.

Date: 2008-08-19 12:14 am (UTC)I have Linux Ubantu on one computer.Is that what you're getting? It's not online so we don't do much with it. Chet likes all the games on it.I'd have to hook it up with wireless to get it online. Let me know if you like that system. I don't have an opinion yet on it.
