Sundays...
Aug. 24th, 2008 01:43 pmThe meteorologists on the local news keep talking about the forthcoming showers and cooler temperatures as if it's the coming of the Apocalypse, but nothing major has happened yet. It sprinkled a bit, and that's all for now.
But it was sunny this morning, so after my morning tea and a bowl of Grape Nuts, I took Reece out for a walk. It was fine until she threw up, and then I turned around and went back the way we came. That was faster than finishing our loop.
She's fine now. She's been eating and playing.
Lance and I went out to Lowe's in a desperate and futile search for patio furniture. As with Home Depot, all chairs and no tables.
Ok...lesson learned. Never wait for patio furniture to go on clearance.
We stopped at Applebee's for lunch since Lance had a gift card. Today was the last day for their combo meal deals, so SCORE! I had a garden salad for a starter, followed by the Fiesta Lime chicken and then a chocolate mousse shooter for dessert (that's one of their mini $1.99 dessert cups).
It was a good meal. Lance got fried mozzarella sticks, some kind of pasta dish and a hot fudge sundae shooter.
All and all, I thought it was a pretty good deal, especially after we used the gift card.
This was followed by a trip to Walmart, where we again were looking for patio furniture. All they had left were conversation sets. Not what we wanted. We picked up a few other things, since we were there anyway...I hate Walmart but it was stuff I was planning to get at Target, so it was just easier to get it there and save a trip. I got a houseplant (a Ponytail Palm) that "thrives on neglect," according to the tag. My kind of plant. It's now sitting on top of our entertainment center.
We're just hanging out the rest of the day...Lance and I both have some chores to do around the house. Right now he's throwing the ball around with the dog. I need to go get the laundry and fold that.
