Aug. 30th, 2008 03:30 pmI smell like lavender and cedarwood. I bought a new reed diffuser for the guest bath, and that's what it smells like. There are worse scents. This is rather pleasant and calming.
What isn't calming? Spending twice as much on groceries as usual. But we're about to have guests and we had a lot of toiletries and cleaning supplies to buy, which are also expensive.
And I got a few interesting bottles of wine at the shoppette. My favorite label is an Oregon wine - a Gewurztraminer. And I have a Snoqualmie Riesling. (The wines I'm saving/buying for my parents' visit are going to be Pacific Northwest wines.) I have a German wine chilling in the fridge for tonight. That one's just for myself.
Lance just cleared out the garage and put all the stuff for the dump in his truck. It's an amazing transformation. Football is about to come on, so we'll wait until tomorrow for the dump.
I have errands to run this evening. I ordered enlargements of a couple of my own botanical photographs to mat and frame for the guest room. So I have to pick those up and get the mats and frames for them. These are pictures I took at the greenhouse in Niagara Falls, Canada that I thought came out really well and match the bright curtains and floral prints in the guest room. We are painting that room eventually, but right now it's rather sparse and unfinished looking. It's just a place to sleep...not a retreat. So I'm working on making the ambiance of that room a bit better.
