Life Goes On
Sep. 8th, 2008 08:25 amI'm still sad.
They're back in Ohio now...had a miserable flight. No sleep. Mom is feeling sick.
I just ache from the absence of them. It didn't help that Reece went around the house this morning, looking for them. She became very smitten with my mother.
I've been crying off and on since last night. I realize now that as beautiful as it is here, I really want to live closer to my family. Washington is still so far away. And obligations, more than distance, will keep me from seeing them as much as I'd like.
I'm off work today. Lance is off for at least half a day. We have someone coming out to look at our dishwasher. Mom and Rob have someone coming out today to look at their air conditioner (which broke down the day that they left to come here). We have another window consultation tonight.
Obligations.
I'm just glad I could show them a wonderful time while they were out here. It was their first trip to Washington, and hopefully not their last. I know how much the flying affects them. But besides that, they have kids spread out hither and yon, so I can't expect that they'll come see us once a year.
