A Mysterious Package
Sep. 15th, 2008 07:44 pmWhen I got home from work this afternoon, there were 2 boxes on the kitchen table. One contained the books I ordered from amazon.com (and now, having a field guide to North American birds, I can finally identify that a Mountain Chickadee has been visiting my feeder).
The other was sent from someplace called Cannon's Country Gourmet and was addressed to our friend Rich. With his address on it.
I was scratching my head. Why did we have a package for Rich in our house? Was Lance keeping it for him? Was it a surprise for his wife or something?
Anyway, Lance came home (he was out at Home Depot or Lowes or wherever) and I asked him why we had a package for Rich on the table. "It's not a package for Rich," he said, "it's a package for you."
Hmmmmmm. Intriguing.
So I opened it.
Wanna see what was inside?
That's a jar of bread and butter pickles, a jar of blackberry jam, and "frog jam," which is comprised mainly of figs. And 2 bags of Dutch Apple Crisp snack mix, which contains sesame sticks, dried apple, and yogurt covered raisins.
Apparently, Rich's father owns Cannon's Country Gourmet (that's his picture on the label). And Rich was getting some stuff from his dad anyway, so he thought he would get some for us too. But it's MINE...ALL MINE!!! MUHAHAHA! Lance doesn't eat pickles. And he likes jam, but I've only ever seen him eat grape jelly. And strawberry jam on his cheese blintzes.
And I am taking that Dutch Apple Crisp to work...I like to keep trail mix and other snacky things in my desk drawer.
Awesome! This has totally made my day.
