Today has been pretty decent, for a weekday. Got a lot of tedious projects done at work. Nice to get those finished, and I had a light call schedule, which gave me big chunks of time to finish things.

I stayed after work for a few minutes - helping Teresa with 2 large payrolls that she got in her fax folder right before we closed. I couldn't stand the thought of her being stuck behind at work while most of us went home, so I offered to take one of the payrolls off her hands.

Since I was running a bit late, Lance took the liberty of ordering pizza for dinner, so I didn't have to worry about cooking. He had come home early and edged the front lawn, picked up after Reece in the backyard, and did some more of his landscaping work. He worked very hard today.

I took Reece for a walk - a nightly ritual now. I have 3 usual walking paths and switch up to keep from getting too bored, but I decided to just walk around the subdivision tonight, going down all the cul-de-sacs that I normally avoid. Turns out, one of those cul-de-sacs has a nice, long side street, and I walked down there and saw a part of the neighborhood I hadn't seen before. I like to study the landscaping and the gardens and see what people have done to their houses. I'm getting inspired.

Lance and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary in a month. We were going to spend the weekend in Victoria, BC, but with the windows and everything, we can't really afford a weekend away. The plan now is to take a day trip to Snoqualmie and explore the town and the nearby waterfall. I really hate the change of plans because my heart was so set on Victoria, but Victoria isn't far away and we can do that some other time.

I need to spend some time this weekend making some tweaks to my layout and making some new icons. Fall is coming...this LJ needs a facelift. Lance is going to be spending Saturday morning doing some volunteer work, and all I have going on is a dental appointment, so after that's over, I'll work on that.

Do you still like "travel" themed layouts? Because I saw one on premade layout community that made me think of you. Though you might not like how small it is or the color scheme:

To get the layout you join [livejournal.com profile] premade_ljs

and it's this address once you add it:

but like I said - I only thought of the travel banner and you and since you guys aren't in Europe anymore it might not been your bag these days.

Since I already have a travel-themed blog, I want to keep my LJ separate from that. I do like that layout though. It's gorgeous.

I've been listening to the Beatles' song "Across the Universe" a lot lately, so I want to use the lyrics as my LJ theme.

Didn't you have a friend once that designed your LJ? Or at least your banner? Maybe they would do that again for you with those lyrics. Beatles are #1 for me and that song is Grade A!

Yeah, one of my LJ friends designed a banner for me a few years ago. I don't think she's doing it anymore...she's a bit preoccupied with other things right now.

I just love the first line of the song so much, and it's very appropriate for a blog.
