I realize that I've been absent from LJ for a few days, which is very unlike me. No explanation for it really, except that I just haven't felt like posting. I'm starting to draw into myself somewhat. It's either because of the season (which tends to bring out the melancholy in me), or just because I haven't had anything to say.

Lance and I are laughing because the Phillies just won the World Series, and as the pitcher was being interviewed on national television, he exclaimed, "Jesus Christ!" HAHAHAHA. I love those moments on TV. Totally random and uncensored. And people get so uptight about it. But he just blurted it out unintentionally in his moment of pure joy.

We just finished eating hamburgers off the grill...likely our last barbecue of the season. The weather has been pretty nice the past few days. It's supposed to get pretty gross tomorrow. I had a huge mound of pickles with my burger - the pickles that we got from Rich's dad (in a box with some assorted jams and snack mix). They are seriously the most amazing pickles I've ever eaten in my life. Lance told Rich that and Rich said he would have his dad send up some more. I'll probably get a whole freaking case. I've been enjoying his dad's apple butter too. I have a jar of that, which I've been eating with toasted cinnamon swirl bread in the mornings.

I've had a need to do some baking. And some writing. I mean some constructive writing...a project. I need to just grab time to write when I can get it, and not worry about having large chunks of time.

I might have to post pictures of my red hair soon. I've been getting a lot of compliments on it. Maybe on Friday when I'm in my pirate costume at work. Our area of the office looks pretty cool. And we're supposed to be in competition with some other groups at work, but nobody else has put up decorations yet. One of my co-workers brought in a pretty big cannon that he made himself, so our pirate theme is nearly complete. I'm just worried about tripping over the damn thing.

Anyway, I have another post I want to write, but I'll put it under a friends cut. I think this is all I have to say for now. This week has felt very long. And I am getting some sort of bronchial ick that I'm not liking too much right now, and I'm just hoping it doesn't develop into something really nasty.

just a quick comment to thank you for writing about the costume you picked out!
I was completely stumped on what to do for Halloween due to lack of funds, but after reading your last post on the pirates costume I was able to pull a pirates costume together from the clothes I have in my closet.

Well, if I had had my way, there would be no pirate costume at all, but since it's a team thing... ya know? Sigga did a great job of helping me with it...otherwise, I would've just grabbed a ready-made costume and rolled with it.
