So...it's almost 4:30. Guess who still isn't here repairing our garage door?
What a waste of 4 hours of vacation time.
And see, I had no contact information for this company. Lance made the appointment. My only job was to be here.
He texted me at 3:00, wanting to know if the garage door was fixed. I texted him back, indicating that nobody has been here, and that I was getting pissed.
Several minutes later, I got a phone call from the company with an apology and an explanation. It seems that there was some sort of miscommunication, and our appointment didn't make it on their schedule for today. I was told that they would get someone out to us today, but it would be another couple of hours.
Lance called me back later on. I explained to him what happened. He got very incensed. The woman who called me was the woman he made an appointment with yesterday! What kind of miscommunication could there have been? She verified over and over that the date was for TODAY...not tomorrow, not Friday. TO-DAY. In fact, when he talked to her prior to her calling me, she said that she knew they were running behind schedule, but the technician who was scheduled to come here was having some unforeseen problems. So she basically confirmed that our appointment was on their schedule.
And then she told me just the opposite. WTF?
Lance wants to call this woman give her crap, but I told him to let it go. It's not going to change the fact that this day was a spectacular failure, and it especially won't change the fact that we'll never be calling this company again and we won't be recommending them to friends. Maybe I'm just too lenient since I'm in customer service myself.
Lance is on his way home now, so he'll probably oversee most of the repair and I can go about my merry way and pick up Reece. I'm just pissed that I wasted an afternoon. The vacation time could've been better spent on something more constructive than sitting around waiting for a repairman who didn't bother to show up.
