Nov. 28th, 2008 02:50 pmHome from work now. Wasn't sure I would be able to leave early, as we had some unexpected absences. And no, these weren't people faking illness to get a 4 day weekend...at least one of these absences is a legitimate and serious injury. And I'm concerned for her. She's one of my best friends at work.
So those of us who signed up to leave early were left in doubt this morning for awhile, but it was completely dead, so they finally told us we could go.
I got everything accomplished that I needed to get accomplished. I passed my level 5 exam, which means another raise. Happy to get that one finished. And I was not feeling good about it going into the test, but I was reassured over and over that I know the material. And I did know it...better than I thought I did. I still missed 3 questions, but I was happy to get above 90%. Sigga took her level 4 today and passed that, so it was fun for both of us to pass our tests today.
I got the Starbucks gift card in the mail today that I was expecting from one of my clients, along with a very nice note. It completely made my day. It's easy in a job like mine to feel so unappreciated...a lot of customer service jobs are like that. People are too quick to point out all the things you're doing wrong and very rarely take the time to thank you for what you're doing right. So it's always a thrill when someone acknowledges the work you do. And now I have about 2.5 free eggnog lattes in my future. YAY!
I'm hanging out with Reece on the couch right now. Have to take a look at my technical writing course for this week. Lance is in the kitchen on the computer. He is spending his 4 day weekend with the flu. Which means I'll probably get it sometime next week.
So anyway...off to study. Thanksgiving dinner, part 2 is going to be tonight, followed by (hopefully) Miracle on 34th Street, which I actually wanted to watch yesterday, but couldn't, due to football.
