Snowed In

Woke up after a pretty nice sleep last night and turned on the news to see how bad things got. We didn't lose power, so that's something to certainly be thankful for, but we have several inches of snow and a crust of ice on top of that. Guess we had some freezing rain at some point, but that was probably after we went to bed.

The roads are a disaster though. I'm sure the arterials will be cleaned up today at some point, but there is no reason for us to go out anyway.

I'm just sitting here in a quiet room, looking at the snow outside, and drinking some hot caramel cider and eating my apple streusel muffins. Life is good right now. I have a sleepy dog curled up beside me. And we have absolutely no plans for today except hanging out.

I don't think I could leave my house even if I wanted to. Our across the street neighbor already tried to leave his house, and his car got stuck in the street. He gave up on trying to go anywhere today.
