Live Journal - it brings people together!
Mar. 6th, 2009 08:47 pmSo...
godchick and I parted ways just a little over an hour ago, and she's now enroute to her home in Vancouver, Washington (just outside of Portland, for you geographically challenged).
We had a nice time. She arrived in the restaurant only about a minute after I did. I recognized her immediately, which was kind of funny, considering she hardly ever posts any photos of herself. I just knew it was her.
Anyway, we met at Bahama Breeze, which is this MASSIVE Caribbean-themed restaurant. I had looked at their online menu beforehand, and was all set to enjoy some fish tacos. Only, they didn't have them on the menu.
Disappointing.
So I had to order something else. I ended up with this dish that consisted of bowtie pasta and salmon with a passionfruit cream sauce, spinach and mushrooms. Sounds more interesting than it tasted, because I expected it to be fruity. It just looked and tasted somewhat like alfredo sauce. Still good though.
Dessert was really interesting and very yummy - we each ordered a molten chocolate cake topped with caramelized pineapple rings, sitting in a pool of butterscotch brandy sauce with swirls of raspberry sauce.
Yvonne treated me to dinner, which was an incredibly sweet gesture - and she even brought me a lovely gift - a beautiful tote bag (made out of recycled water bottles) filled with fun magazines and some potted flowers.
I had a great time! I hope she did too. We talked about our travels, work, family...we could've gone on, but I had to pick up Reece and she had a 3 hour drive home.
Thanks again,
godchick - you are awesome!
She has a couple pictures, so they will be forthcoming.
Now...time for a movie.
Oh - Lance comes home tomorrow! YAY!!!!!!
