Glass Art Jewelry
Mar. 14th, 2009 06:00 pmKathy and I went to Waxen Art to make glass jewelry today, although I think if I do glass fusing again, I would make a larger project. Jewelry is kind of difficult and time consuming, and we ended up being there much longer than everyone else.
I made 4 necklaces - all very unique. I have no idea what the final products will look like. Kathy made 3 necklaces and a pair of earrings. Our last projects were collaborative efforts. I started a necklace, which she finished, and vice versa.
I pick them up on Tuesday, so I will probably take pictures.
The first couple of necklaces were fun to do, but I was starting to get annoyed with the whole process after that. I cut myself (and so did Kathy), because, after all, you are working with pieces of glass, some of which have jagged edges. I wasn't terribly adept at using the scoring tools.
It was an interesting experience though, and I'm glad we tried it.
We bookended the jewelry making - lunch at Panera Bread and then we went to Pizzeria Fondi afterwards to pick up pizzas to take home for dinner. And some cookies from Cow Chip cookies.
Lance and I are watching Dogma (although he's watching it more than I am). I'm still tired and I have a headache.
