prosodicOur ant infestation from last spring came back in full force last night. Lance was sitting at the dining table and the dishwasher was running, and the ants came scurrying out from underneath the area where the dishwasher is.
So Lance immediately started googling, and told me to sprinkle some cinnamon on the floor by where the ants were coming out.
And wouldn't you know it? It actually worked! The ants that already came out wouldn't even go near it, and no more ants came out from under the dishwasher. Lance got out the vacuum and cleaned up the ones that we had on the kitchen floor.
The only problem is keeping Reece away from that area, but I think if she took a taste of the cinnamon and felt it burn her tongue a bit, she might leave it alone anyway.

I am getting off at 3 today because I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. This time, I think I'm actually seeing MY doctor. I haven't ever seen her yet...instead, I always get one of the other doctors. I call him Dr. Prescription Pad, because he doesn't give a rat's ass about actually fixing/managing the problem. All he wants to do is cover it up with drugs.
Anyway...I have a lot to discuss with her. Today is a routine visit, but I'm sure there will be some more visits coming up soon. With my achy joints and stuff, I'm feeling pretty sure (and my mom backs me up on this) that I'm getting arthritis. It runs in our family and my mom was diagnosed with it pretty young. I also want to discuss my digestive problems with her because they've only gotten worse. I think a lot of that has to do with my job, of course...the problems only increased after I started working there.
It's time I started paying attention to these things and not just grit my teeth and bear them.

Anyway, it's a cold and rainy day. I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm kind of cranky (this is two nights in a row now). And I have some unpleasant unfinished business to attend to at work today, so I'm really not looking forward to it.
But I told Lance that I NEED to get away somewhere. Even if it's just for a day. So hopefully we can escape soon.
