HAPPY EASTER!
Apr. 12th, 2009 08:12 amI used to have Easter icons. Don't know what happened to them.
Anyway...Lance and I aren't doing much right now. We just got up and we're on our respective laptops. I just finished a bowl of cereal and will make myself a latte shortly.
It's rainy and quiet. Not a pleasant day to be out.
Last night, we found The Ten Commandments on, which I usually watch every year anyway. It was a little more than an hour into it when I found it on TV and we watched it for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours before we gave up and went to bed. I used to think the movie was so amazing when I was a kid. Now I think it's kind of cheesy. All the overly dramatic music and the narration.
I am guessing King of Kings will be on today at some point. That's another one I watch whenever it's on, mostly out of habit. I do like that movie.
Five years ago, Lance and I spent Easter in Ghent, Belgium, where we were on our belated honeymoon. I just remember wandering around the town, hearing all the church bells ring all at once. We had awakened in Bruges that morning, breakfasted at the hotel (where they passed out chocolate eggs with our breakfast), and then drove the short way to Ghent.
Nothing will beat that Easter. That was pretty amazing.
Today, it's just nice being with Lance and Reece, as neither one of them were around last year at Easter. And our friends are coming over around 3 for a rather non-traditional Easter dinner. But we're all ok with that.
