May. 9th, 2009 04:05 pmNew flowers are planted. I hope the Impatiens do well especially, and that they fill out a bit. I was counting on them getting to be fairly big and bushy so they would cover a wider area of the garden.
The Lobelia is the trailing kind, and I planted it for ground cover too. I have a lot of flower bed space, but I don't want to plant a lot of stuff in it. I want the plants to spread out.
So...that's done. I started to take Reece for a walk and then I saw that the park was empty. I was very surprised at that, given that it's a sunny and pleasant Saturday afternoon. So I went back in the house and grabbed her Chuckit! and we made our way to the park, where I let her off-leash and we played fetch. That lasted all of 10-15 minutes before she was panting and collapsed in the grass. I forgot her water again. So I took her home. Lance was finishing up the lawn at that time, so I gave Reece a water break and some time to catch her breath, and Lance and I walked her back over to the park for another round of fetch. She is now thoroughly worn out, which is exactly what we wanted.
I'm now baking double chocolate chai muffins. I had a Betty Crocker double chocolate muffin mix and I just added a heaping teaspoon of chai spice blend to it. I also used applesauce instead of oil to cut out some of the fat. I think they're going to be really tasty. Lance and I will keep half of them for ourselves and I'll take the rest over for Kathy and Beck after we have dinner tonight. Kathy wants to watch The Reader. So that's our plan...muffins and a movie.
But now...I have writing to do. Better get to it.
