Birthday planning

My birthday is in 3 weeks, and I was trying to decide if I wanted to go out to dinner or have dinner here at home.

I think I decided to just have a quiet, low-key evening chez Johnsons. I want Kathy, Rich and Beckett to come. Kathy is already baking my birthday cake. She said she can get good steaks at Costco, so I think steak will be the main course. I just hope we have good weather so we can grill.

So...menu (thus far):

Appetizer:
- Warm Italiano Spread with crackers

Main Course:
- steak
- garlic fries
- salad

Dessert:
- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake with ice cream

And of course, wine & beer.

My original plan was dinner out on the patio at Red House, but the more I think about it, the more staying at home sounds good. Everyone can truly relax and we can have Reece with us. And we don't need to worry about Beck either, which we would've had to do if we ate out, because Red House is not child friendly.

Besides, I'm going out for breakfast anyway. Kathy and I agreed we would go back to Wild Wheat Bakery for breakfast that morning.

I do love the Kraft website. They always have such great recipes.

Looks like that cake recipe may have to be changed a bit though, based on the comments. But as long as I have the chocolate/peanut butter combo, I'm fine. :)
