prosodicIt's been a busy holiday weekend so far, and tomorrow isn't going to be relaxing either. From the moment we rolled out of bed this morning, it was go go go. I had to take Reece to day camp and drive down to McChord to do our shopping. Lance prepped and finished priming the walls and started painting. When I finished my shopping, I resumed my painting where I left off from yesterday. We've made progress, but there is still a lot to do. I'm worried it's not going to be done tomorrow.
I got from McChord shortly before 12 and put away groceries and then got myself some lunch. I had roughly 4 hours to paint before we had to start cleaning up and put the house back in order so we could get Reece. But we got that done. Lance left to pick her up and I stayed here at the house to get dinner ready.
I bought some salami and cheese earlier today, so I put together a salami, cheese and cracker platter. Baked a Pillsbury French Loaf. Diced up a cantaloupe I bought at the store today (soooooooo good). And that was dinner. Uncorked a $2.99 bottle of wine (on sale - Covey Run Riesling) and called it good. I wanted to do dinner this way so I wouldn't have any work to do, but with cutting up the fruit and slicing up the cheese, I spent as much time doing that than if I would've whipped up a quick skillet dinner or something. No matter. It hit the spot.
So now...it's 7:15 and I'm completely beat. I feel like a 90 year old inside a 33 year old woman's body. Every muscle aches. Every movement requires great effort. This is what home ownership feels like. But you know, I look at this warm, rich color going up on the walls, and I think about how much better it will feel to hang out in the living room now. We won't have to look at the sterile and boring off-white anymore. Now we have a subtle tan, which adds so much more depth to the room. So yeah, I'm sore and I feel like crap, but I also feel accomplished, which isn't a bad thing.
