Fie upon thee, Mother Nature! part deux
Jul. 12th, 2009 08:59 pmShakespeare...rained out.
I'm not actually sure if they went through with the performance. They perform in rain. They cancel if there's lightning and thunder. And there most certainly was that. We got the hell out of dodge once that started, which was before the play started, so I don't know if it ever stopped before the play was scheduled to start or not.
The skies looked iffy when we walked to the park. It started sprinkling just as we spread the blanket in the grass. Lisa thought we should eat before the rain got any worse, but as soon as we got out the food, it started pouring. So we ate our picnic in the rain. Then it started letting up and we were getting optimistic. But we were still hearing thunder.
And then, the flash of lightning.
So we took the bus back to her place (even though it's only a 10-15 minute walk). We hung out at her apartment for awhile, ate our dessert, drank our Italian grapefruit soda, and looked up funny videos on YouTube.
We'll try again on Friday night. They're doing another performance at Angle Lake Park near the airport, so we'll meet up there and hopefully the weather will be much better.
