Today started out well enough. I got up around 7 or so. By 8:00, I already walked Reece and was making my breakfast. It was already in the '70s by that point.

I applied for some writing jobs, browsed the Internet, worked for 3.5 hours, and worked on a new trick with Reece...not necessarily in that order. I also started reading a new book. I finished William Zinsser's Writing Places last night, and need to write up a review on that today. I'll do that this evening when Lance is at the gym.

It's 85 degrees in the house. It's 91 outside, and that's not even the high temperature for today. Our thermometer peaked at 92, but Lance said that the one in his truck read 96 when he pulled into our driveway.

It's miserably hot, and all my motivation is gone. I just want to laze around and drink cold drinks and eat cold food. As much as I hate air conditioning, I am longing for it now.

Most of this week will likely be a repeat of today, except with cleaning included, because the house needs to be ready for Lance's sister by Friday night. I just don't feel like moving.

The concept of no AC is completely foreign to me. Of course I live in a place where AC is needed 10 months a year at a minimum.

It really doesn't make sense to have it here, since I can normally count on one hand the number of days we have each year that get this hot. We still had the heat on 2 weeks ago!
