Aug. 12th, 2009 07:53 amReece is starting to freak me out. She was acting strangely last night. She got into bed with us, as is our nightly ritual. We all pile on the bed and snuggle for a little bit before she goes to her own bed and Lance and I go to sleep.
But the thing is, she refused to go to her own bed. We would tuck her in, so to speak, and within seconds, she would be out of her bed and pacing around the room. She would stop on my side of the bed and cry. She did this repeatedly.
The only way we could get her to shut up was to let her back into bed with us. So we all went to sleep. Around 3:30 this morning, Lance kicked her out of bed because she was gradually stretching herself out and pushing him toward the edge. He got up with her, let her out, and then tucked her into her own bed and went back to sleep himself (he falls asleep within seconds...I have always envied his ability to do this).
No sooner was he asleep than she was out of bed again. She came around to my side of the bed and started the crying bit again. I got up and comforted her and tried to walk her back to her bed, but she stood by the door. So I let her out and she laid down on the floor in the living room. I kneeled down next to her, and she curled up onto my lap and then rolled over on her back, looking for tummy rubs. So I obliged her for a moment and then led her back into the bedroom and put her back into her bed.
Within a few minutes, she jumped back into bed with us. I was too tired to do anything about it, so I just left her there. And she stayed there until we got up at 7 this morning.
The last time she acted weird like this, we had an earthquake the following morning. Although it was a minor one and Lance and I slept through it. So far, no earthquakes today. So I'm wondering what's up with the strange behavior. At one point last night, she seemed afraid of Lance and was clinging to me for dear life.
