Sep. 4th, 2009 04:39 pmToday was supposed to be like any normal day, except for Lance being home. And then a friend reminded me that the weather this weekend is supposed to be chilly and nasty, so I can always work later. Today is the day to enjoy the outdoors.
She was right. I put in almost an hour of work. Lance had a test this morning up in Bellevue, so I worked while he was doing that. He came home after passing his test, and we went to Subway for lunch. Then we came home and got Reece, ran up to Petsmart to get a 30 foot training leash, and then went out to Lake Meridian. The leash was so that she could go out further into the water, but she wasn't interested in being in the water much today. Lots of boats out, which create waves, and she hates waves. We weren't out there long.
We came home and I started the self-clean cycle on the oven so I could obliterate the baked beans mess from yesterday. It's a 4 hour and 20 minute cycle. It's not halfway through yet, and the fumes are enough to gag a maggot (as my Dad would say). Most of the windows are open, the ceiling fan is running and the hood vent is on. There isn't anything more I can do.
The rain is here now and it's cooling off quite a bit. So I'll be putting in more work tonight and then probably a little tomorrow after the OSU game. I don't expect to see nice weather again for awhile. I'm glad I listened to Lisa and blew off work this afternoon. But I think I need to go put long pants on and a sweatshirt, because I'm getting chilly and I can't close the windows anytime soon.
Also, I have a big problem in that the drawer beneath the oven is stuck. I have cookie sheets in there. I fought with it and fought with it, and I can't get the damn thing open. Right now, it's too hot to touch, so I'll have to wait until the oven is done cleaning and cools off.
