Sep. 17th, 2009 03:15 pmI'm leaving in about an hour and 15 minutes to fight the traffic and hopefully get to my appointment at Bellevue College around 6.
I'm making some pasta salad right now, so I have something to eat when I get there. I normally eat dinner around 5 and I'll be commuting at 5. Hopefully I'll get there 10-15 minutes early so I can eat a little something.
This will be my normal commute when I do on-campus classes from now on. I'm kind of dreading it. That stretch of freeway is a complete nightmare most of the time. I just have to keep reminding myself that classes are only 5 weeks long and I will only be sporadically driving up to campus. Half the classes are online. I can even leave a bit earlier if I have to and find a place to hang out near campus, just so I can avoid the bulk of rush hour traffic.
Anyway, hopefully I can learn a lot tonight about this certificate program. And I can officially enroll and request the tuition assistance that's already been approved. And next Thursday...*fingers crossed*.
Not much else going on today. Took Reece out to the park after lunch to play fetch. Hoping she would be thoroughly wiped out. She's getting her second wind now, though.
Ran into the neighbor on the way home. She owns the house next door, but she rents it out. New tenants just moved in on Friday. But she's still there doing yard clean up and stuff. Anyway, we've been chatting a lot recently and she adores Reece and just had to have her own dog put to sleep a couple weeks ago, so she offered to give me her dog's bed, which is in new condition and hardly ever used. She's going to wash it thoroughly first and then give it to me sometime next week. Super nice of her, because Reece's bed has definitely seen better days.
