prosodicI actually have first day of school jitters. WTF? I'm sitting in a chair for 3 hours. I'm not teaching. And I don't even know how much class discussion is expected (I'm guessing not nearly as much as in grad school). And yet, I'm nervous.
The mind, it boggles.
I just called my Mom and talked to her briefly. Quoth my stepdad, "don't reveal your genius to the class on the first day." (That's not verbatim, probably, but you get the general idea.) I laughed.
Anyway, I'm leaving at 4:00 - 25 minutes from now. Class doesn't start until 6. But I want to give myself plenty of time. It took over an hour to get there last week, for starters (class takes place during rush hour, after all). I have to stop at Subway to pick up dinner (free 6 inch sub...YAY!). And if I get there a little early, so what? They have a student lounge. I'll just sit and read and eat my sandwich.
