December 9th

I can't believe I let yesterday pass without thinking about it.

It occurred to me at 11 or so last night that yesterday marks our 2nd anniversary of living here. We left Amsterdam on December 9, 2007. I made a very short LJ entry right before we checked out of our hotel to go to the Schiphol, and I didn't post again until the next day, when we were here at our hotel that looked like Rainbow Brite threw up all over it.

It's interesting how much one's perspective can change in 2 years. I kind of want to laugh at that woman who posted with such optimism 2 years ago. Oh honey, you were so naive.

I've thought about it. It dawned on me about a week ago that this was your third Christmas there, not your second. ;)

That first Christmas here didn't feel much like a Christmas at all though, since it was so rushed. We didn't even put up the tree until either the 21st or 22nd, I think. And then Lance almost blew himself up on Christmas Day when he tried lighting the fireplace for the first time.
