Jan. 5th, 2008 01:45 pmI am loving Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares...awesome show. Gordon Ramsay is hilarious. Today he pointed to a plate of profiteroles and told the Maitre d' of the restaurant, "your bollocks need to be that size. So grow a pair!" LOL!
But what is the point of bleeping out the F-word, yet not bleeping out the S-word? Are there varying degrees of obscenity when it comes to bad words? I mean, the local radio stations here bleep out the word "drug" in every song, as if you hear that word and suddenly have the irresistable urge to go out and buy some smack.
Anyway, I love BBC America. They don't censor anything in Europe, and that's what Lance and I are used to, so it always catches us off-guard when we see/hear things get censored. It's laughable, really, the extent to which it is done.
So...I'm wondering where this big storm is that we are supposed to be getting right now. There is no sign of it. We had a bit of wind earlier and it started to pour, but that was pretty brief. It was enough, however, to shear another board off our privacy fence, so now we have two to fix (one needs replacing entirely), and a third one that looks like it's about to come loose.
We had errands to run today (which did not, surprise surprise, include a run to HD). We had to pick up a few things at Target and then stop by the credit union inside the grocery store. We were there last night to open an account and Lance decided later on that we should've ordered checks. So we went back there today to do that. It was a bad time to go out. The playoffs just now started (Seahawks vs. Redskins, here in Seattle) and everyone was out trying to get their shopping and banking done before the game. So we met with crowds that were similar to what we dealt with a few days before Christmas.
Anyway, my agenda for today:
- finish laundry
- finish online application for job interview #2
- do more prepwork for job interview #1
I was reading back through some of the posts from my old LJ. Some of that stuff is so hilarious to me now. It didn't seem so at the time. It just reminds me of how far I've come since then, and how I still continue to struggle with some of the same issues.
