I had a pretty decent night last night. I relaxed and watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age, although it was interrupted by a couple phone calls. But that's fine. It was one of the few wives from Lance's unit that I've managed to get to know so far. Her husband left yesterday too (although he's only gone for a week) and she wanted to chat. We made plans to get together this evening and go to the YMCA after she gets off work.

Anyway, I may need to watch the movie again. Some parts of it completely made no sense to me (the dream sequences, generally), although some of it was explained in the extra features. The cinematography was both good and bad. It was cool that they shot scenes in these giant cathedrals and the cameras were hoisted up very high to show the impressive scale of these places, but they did it a little too much.

I didn't think it was as good as the first film anyway.

After that movie ended, I tried to watch one on Showtime (we had a free preview), but I just couldn't get into it. I watched about 5 minutes of it and it seemed pretty lame. So I took care of some various things that needed doing around the house and listened to the Loreena McKennitt CD I got from amazon.com the other day.

I took half of one of my prescription sleep aid and read for a bit, then had a nice, deep sleep overnight. I think I got about over 8 hours. My head hit the pillow just a few minutes shy of midnight and I woke up at 8:12. And since it's Monday, I had to get out of bed and put out the trash.

It's not bad today. The rain has returned, but it's really humid and it's supposed to be in the high 50's today. I need to get out to the post office, get a hair cut, wash my suit for tomorrow's job interview, do a little research on the company I am interviewing with tomorrow so I can come up with some smart questions to ask them, and then hopefully go to the Y tonight. I'm keeping myself pretty busy.

Oh, and just to remind myself...I need to gather some thoughts about Suite Francaise. My former book club is discussing it tomorrow night and I want to send an email about it. The book club that meets at the library here in Kent is discussing it on Wednesday and I plan to be there.

Just texted Lance this photo, so thought I would post it on here too, since I am freshly coiffed from Chatters Salon.

So much better than how my hair looked a few hours ago. It was pretty shaggy. And the back (which apparently grows much faster) was a couple inches longer than the front, giving an almost mullet-like effect.

YAY! HAIRCUT!

(EDIT: Hehe. Lance texted back with "Nice haircut!")

I just finished dinner, and it seems weird, because I generally eat dinner about 3 hours before this.

But I went to the gym with one of the other wives from Lance's unit...so that's where I was when I normally eat dinner.

It was a quick workout. And by that, I mean that it went by really fast. We worked out for about an hour, but we gabbed through most of it, so it hardly seemed like any time had passed at all.

30 minutes on the elliptical. About 20 on the treadmill.

Came home, called Lance and attempted to cook dinner one-handed while we talked. My stomach was really growling. I had a bag of that Voila stuff in the freezer (those skillet meals that you basically just thaw out in the microwave or on the stove). So I just had some shrimp scampi and salad. I can't say the shrimp scampi was great (even though it said "restaurant quality" on the bag), but at least it was filling and full of veggies and protein.

Now off to finish my meal with some chocolate graham crackers. :)

I have to make a somewhat early night of it tonight. I have to get up and put some donations out on the curb for United Cerebral Palsy tomorrow. They are coming around in their truck to collect things. We had stuff for Goodwill, but why drive it there when someone will come by to pick it up at our house? But it has to be out by 8 AM. I would put it out tonight, but it's raining, and part of our donations include a small metal desk.

I think it'll be relatively quiet the next few days. I really don't have anyone to hang out with. But I'm used to keeping company with myself.
