I leave for Rochester at 7:30 AM on Sunday morning, and I'm getting sick.

I had it coming. I've avoided getting sick this entire time since we've lived here, with the exception of one Saturday about 5 weeks ago when I had a sore throat. And that went away in a day after a lot of rest, tea, chicken & dumpling soup, and Ricola lozenges.

I felt fine this morning. My supervisor took me out to lunch (Thai food, if you're curious...although, because I'm a wimp, I ordered something non-spicy). When we got back to work, I noticed my throat was really scratchy and I started sneezing like mad. And it's gotten progressively worse all afternoon.

Stopped by the store on the way home and bought Airborne gummis, because the tablets you dissolve in water are vile, disgusting things. The gummis are somewhat tolerable (although ask me again after I've had to suck on the licorice flavored ones).

The last thing I need is to develop a full blown illness while I'm in Rochester.

Anyway, as I left work today, there were hugs and cellphone numbers exchanged...lots of encouragement and well wishes. I feel good about the trip. It's the first day back that terrifies me.

...because I'm really preoccupied this weekend, getting ready for this business trip and all.

But tomorrow marks 7 years since Lance and I became a couple.

Seven freaking years. Good God. Where does the time go?

A package came in the mail today from Mom.

Inside, a Jeff Dunham DVD with a note.

"This is hilarious. Watch it together."

So we did. And while it was humorous, I didn't bust a gut laughing, and neither did Lance. I think my parents found it to be much funnier than we did.

Maybe it's because I'm sick (sicker than I was when I posted earlier), but I am just not in the mood to laugh right now. And also? A lot of the stuff said in that DVD would be downright offensive coming from a person, but because these things are said by puppets (and you forget that there's a person behind them), it's somehow acceptable and funny.

Of course, the website says as much. But Lance and I talked a bit about that after we watched it.

The most interesting part of the DVD, for me, anyway, was the extra footage that showed the creation of one of the puppets.

Anyway, this was one of the funnier parts...and my Mom's favorite:
