(no subject)

Back in Seattle. Exhausted. Jetlagged. TEN POUNDS HEAVIER.

Blah.

No food in the house. Lots of cleaning to do.

I want to go back to bed.

Puppies

Our search for a puppy continues. We inquired about a black lab puppy at a rescue in North Seattle. The application is pretty in-depth though, and we need references. Home visits are also done. So I'm not sure how that will go. But the puppy's foster mother contacted us and invited us to come out and visit her, so we'll see how it goes.

We also inquired about Bulldog/Lab mixes in Snoqualmie. They are being trained by troubled teens as part of a special program at some juvenile detention facility. There are 6 puppies and during the training, we would be allowed to bring one of the puppies home on the weekends to see what chemistry we have with her.

So we'll see where these lead...

Just got a haircut today, very badly needed. And I ran to Target for some stuff. Lance took care of doing some housecleaning while I was out, as well as some laundry.

Well, I have to call the foster mom and schedule an appointment to visit this puppy.

Reece

About a week from now, she will be our new baby.

We met her today at her foster parents' home. They are such nice people and they had 3 very playful puppies at their house. Reece took to us immediately and spent a lot of time jumping up on me and trying to lick my face.

The foster mom basically said we could pick her up tomorrow if we wanted. We still haven't turned in the application, but it seems to be a mere formality at this point. I'm about to send it in.

Reece gets spayed on Tuesday, so after a few days of recovery time, we can go pick her up. :) It will be hard to tear her away from her little canine friends, but we'll do the best we can to socialize her without another dog in the house. We plan to get another dog eventually though.

Time to finish the application and get it in. She said that two other people called about Reece, but seemed to lose interest when she invited them to come out to her house and look at her. We're the only ones who bothered to follow through.
