Windows arrive IN ONE WEEK!!!!

And while I'm not looking forward to the noise and chaos in the house, I'm very much looking forward to not having to bundle up in such heavy clothing just to sit on the couch and watch TV. The drafts are THAT bad.

Lance and I were discussing it. He already has Thursday and Friday off next week, but I think I should take Thursday off, at least. I need to help him with getting the window treatments down (we'll take them down all the other windows the night before, but need to leave the ones in the bedroom window up) and moving furniture out of the way. And while they're installing windows, I can go out and get new window treatments.

I hope they do our bedroom first. That's the coldest room in the house. Even though we have our thermostat set on 72, it's usually in the mid-60's in our bedroom. Reminds me too much of when we lived in Germany and how cold and drafty both our houses were when we lived there.

Never pick up KFC for dinner when you have a hungry dog in the backseat of your car.

No, she didn't get a hold of my dinner. But she certainly tried. She did manage to get a taste of the gravy that came on my mashed potatoes, and she went completely mental.

I hadn't planned on getting takeout for dinner, but nothing here at home appealed to me at all. What I really wanted was teriyaki, but I didn't want to leave Reece in the car while I ran in and waited on a to-go order.

In other news...LANCE COMES HOME TOMORROW!!

He couldn't get the flight home that he wanted...a bummer for both of us. That flight would've gotten him home around a bit before 1 pm, and probably would've gotten me the afternoon off work.

Instead, he comes home at 8:45 pm. So much for getting off work.

I got 100% on my first technical writing quiz.

It's not that big of a deal. It was 5 questions and the material it covered was pretty easy.

I expect it to get more difficult.

I'm actually finding this course to be pretty interesting. I kind of expected the subject matter to be a bit dry, but the instructor presents it in a way that isn't at all boring.

I am trying to work on some technical documents for work, to get some practice and experience. Since I'm the Online Enrollment person (otherwise known as "IT," for Internet Timesheets), I am taking it upon myself to write up a brief tutorial on the proper way the Online Enrollment forms should be filled out. People are always turning in incomplete forms and I have to reject them. And it's time consuming for me to track down the person who submitted it.

Next Friday, I have to give a presentation on call schedule management, which will require writing another technical document.

Every little bit helps my resume.
