Happy 100th birthday, Miep Gies.

(Her birthday was yesterday).

I've always admired this amazing woman.

Some painting got done...not the walls, as we had hoped, but I painted the ceiling in the hallway. I figured it was a good idea, since our past experience has shown that even though we had no intention of painting the ceiling in the first place, it became necessary once the walls were painted. It just shows how old and dingy the ceiling is.

We also have what I like to call a cubby - a little alcove by our bedroom door where we have a built-in cabinet. I painted the ceiling there too.

It took about 2 hours altogether. Lance primed around the windows.

We're still in the process of cleaning up. Since the hallway ceiling is still a bit wet, I left the drop cloth there. After dinner, I'll clean all that up, vacuum, take a shower, and then we can go pick up Reece. Most of the house is already vacuumed.

I'm going to Kathy's tomorrow around lunchtime. Just need to hang out. I want to bring stuff to make lunch, so I emailed her and asked her if she wants me to bring pancake fixings or soup fixings.

Oh, Lance passed a computer certification test today. This means one less class he has to take for his undergrad, and it means that much more money once he's a civilian, as long as he's working in his chosen field.

Kellogg's Little Bites Chocolate Frosted Mini Wheats. Oh God. I was peckish, so I opened up a box of these (Lance put them in the cart after he saw me looking at them in the store). I just had a very small bowl with milk. Soooooooo good. These could become a new addiction. They shouldn't, because they aren't exactly low in calories, but at least they're whole grain.

Reece was so good today. She ate all her food! She was at day camp all day, but she generally doesn't eat while she's there (she usually throws her food all over the floor), so when she does actually eat, it's an occasion to be noted. It's been ages since she's eaten all the food she is supposed to eat in one day. This new food is miraculous. She came home and immediately scarfed down another bowl. Afterwards, I gave her a Greenie to chew on. She never had one of those before, but they're supposed to help clean her teeth between brushings. She loved it. She was just on a hunt for more snacks. I'm so glad that she's back to her normal self again.

The weather is supposed to be super nice this week. In the 50's. I hope tomorrow is good. Reece and I are going for a visit to Kathy and Beck's house. But before that, we could get out for a nice walk or something. Might as well take advantage if the weather's good.

It's nice to have another day off tomorrow. Another day where I don't have to feel such a horrible weight on my shoulders. I'm going to try and make the most of it.
