Apr. 2nd, 2009 06:30 pmThe rain is just ridiculous. I think I'm officially sick of living here and I now want to move to somewhere that stays sunny and dry most of the time. This weather is way too depressing.
That being said, today wasn't all gloom and doom. I was one of several prize winners in a music trivia contest we had today. Most of the questions were about bands that I have only heard of - '80s New Age and Punk bands. I never would've gotten any of the questions. But then a question was asked about a music video that was nominated for several MTV Video Awards in 1986, including best special effects, best direction, etc. And it was apparently spoofed on "Family Guy" (although I don't watch that show)...but I still knew the answer.
A-Ha's "Take On Me." One of my favorite '80s songs, and probably the most groundbreaking video of the 1980s...so it wasn't a difficult one for me.
And thus, I won this nifty guy to display in my cubicle:

Anyway, if you have never seen the video:
(I just watched the "Family Guy" spoof and I didn't really think it was all that funny. But then again, I really don't get that show anyway.)
Teresa invited Sigga and I to lunch today, a much better choice than the packed lunch I brought. She wanted me to meet her husband. So he met up with us at Chopstick Teriyaki and I had delicious veggie yakisoba. Yum! Her husband was also really nice.
And then Lance and I just had tacos for dinner. Mmmmmmmm. Tacos.
Lots of plans this weekend. Sigga and I are going out tomorrow night to look for fabric. She's going to sew a couple pillow covers for me to replace the pillows that Reece destroyed. And we'll grab something to eat while we're out.
Lisa and I are making plans for Saturday. We'll probably go hiking, because it's actually supposed to be dry for once.
And then Kathy and I are getting together at Sunday to do silly crafty things.
But I still have a lot of household stuff to take care of, especially outside, as long as the weather stays nice for a few days. I need to pull weeds and do some cleaning up in the backyard.
Oh...and I almost forgot to mention, but I think I'm going to start volunteering for the Seattle Center For Book Arts. They have need of volunteer proofreaders, and I think it would be a great thing to add to my resume.
