prosodic: (Van Gogh's sunflowers)
Ok, so I got an invitation to a reception on Saturday night at the Tacoma Museum of Glass. One of my clients is about to unveil his public exhibition. There will be cocktails and hors d'oeuvres...sounds kind of swanky. I got the invitation past the RSVP date, but since I got it directly from the artist's studio, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to get in. I'll call the office manager there tomorrow to make sure it's ok...the museum is handling all the arrangements, and nobody there will respond to my email RSVP.

So...I have nothing appropriate to wear to this. What does one wear to something like this? A cocktail dress might be too fancy, but business casual might be too casual. And I want to spend some time in Tacoma beforehand to explore inside the museum and visit the Tacoma Book Center, so I don't particularly want to wander around in my finery all day.

I was thinking just a skirt and a nice top...something comfortable enough to wear all day but nice enough to wear to this reception. But maybe I should ask when I call tomorrow.

Lance spent all day working in the garage - organizing and putting up extra shelving and trying to improve our storage situation. He'll be working on it tomorrow too, but he got a lot done today and it's already a major improvement. The goal is for me to park my car on the other side of the garage so he can use the work bench.
