Blah...

I've been taking Reece to doggie daycamp all week, and I usually take her on Fridays, so I set the alarm for 5:30 this morning with the expectation that I would be dropping her off there again this morning. That's my usual Friday thing: drop Reece off, stop at Starbucks for my Friday latte, go to work.

I didn't sleep all that well last night either.

Lance stayed in bed until 6. When he got up, he asked me why the alarm went off so early. I told him that I always get up half an hour earlier when I have to drop Reece off.

He reminded me that she's not scheduled for camp today.

Oh damn. I got up early for nothing. *sigh*

Guess I'll be half asleep at work. But it's not as if I haven't already checked out of that place anyway. I'm pretty much just a body in a chair, going through the motions.

Woot!

FIVE DAY WEEKEND!!!

I had plans to go to Sequim on Sunday, but those plans were cancelled. It's too much of a hassle to get there right now, because the bridge is closed and the ferry is expensive and requires reservations. I'm going to wait a month or so and then go...once the bridge re-opens.

So...my weekend is almost wide open. Lowe's is coming out to install our new front door on Monday, which means I'll be painting it on Monday. Reece is in day camp now, so she'll be out of my way.

Kathy, Beck and I have plans to go to Sumner too...probably either Tuesday or Wednesday.

I need to get some writing done tonight. I'm running a bit behind right now. It's been a crazy week. I want to get my first 30 titles finished this weekend and turned in on Monday, along with my contract.

Last night, Lance and I went out. To Fry's Electronics so he could pick up some computer parts, then to Lowe's...then to Cold Stone Creamery, where I got the "Mud Pie Mojo" (coffee ice cream, peanut butter, oreos, fudge and toasted almonds)...I asked for it sans almonds and with caramel instead. Yum. Holycrapyum.

I so need these next 5 days off. And using up some of my PTO that I will lose otherwise isn't bad either.

Yes, I am finally joining the 21st century and opening a Twitter account.

Apparently, you cannot be taken seriously as a writer unless you tweet.

I think this is patently ridiculous, as I pretty much use Facebook for that same purpose. Now that I have it connected to my mobile, I post status updates much more frequently. Are status updates not like tweets? I really see no difference.

Yet...here I am, succumbing to something that I have lived perfectly well without, thus far. We'll see how this experiment goes. I thought Facebook was stupid when I first joined, but now I'm on it more than Live Journal.
