I am reading Matador Travel's 50 Things to Do Before You Die.

I've done #15, #32 (went from Geilenkirchen to Garmisch on a train - pretty much all the way across the country from north to south, west to east), #39, #42 (Shakespeare's grave, Beethoven's birthplace, and several others).

4 out of 50. Wow.

I would add another one to this list: Carnival - either in Rio de Janeiro or Venice, which are 2 of the world's largest celebrations. If that we added to the list, I would then have 5.

Yesterday was mostly an internet-free day. I was online some, but spent most of the day reading The Last Queen, a book about Queen Juana of Spain, who ruled around the time of Henry VII in England (her sister was Katherine of Aragon, first wife of Henry VIII).

Very very good book. I had a difficult time putting it down yesterday in favor of doing something more constructive.

It was a pretty lazy day. The weather wasn't particularly nice (it didn't rain, but it stayed pretty chilly most of the day), so we stayed in, with the exception of taking Reece for a walk after dinner. I spent the evening watching my DVD rental - The Secret Life of Bees - which was really good. It's been a few years since I've read the novel.

I need to venture out to the post office and stop by Hollywood Video to return that DVD today. Otherwise, I'll be applying for more freelance work and looking at more of the materials we have for starting up our own internet business. I also need to do some cleaning today. The guest bath needs cleaned and I really need to organize the cabinet next to my bed.

It's another kind of blah day outside, so I'm having trouble getting motivated. It's chilly in the house (66 degrees currently) and I'm so cozy right now wrapped up in my blanket on the couch that I don't feel like getting up and doing anything. But the sun just came out, so maybe it'll warm up.

I am also sitting next to an extremely gassy puppy, so perhaps that's a reason for me to get up too.

A guy came in with 3 boxes of bees. He was mailing them to Montana.

He had to reassure everyone that it was completely safe. The boxes were well-taped (they were wooden-framed wire mesh boxes). He explained to the people in line how they get shipped. He spritzed them with water from his water bottle (the bees, not the people in line).

I swear, I see the most random and strange stuff almost everywhere I go.
