I'm so tired. It was about 87 degrees in the house when we went to bed (it didn't even get below 90 outside until almost 10 pm), so neither of us slept well. Lance actually moved out into the living room sometime during the night. I was ok on the bed under the ceiling fan. Reece found a spot on her little IKEA loveseat under the other ceiling fan in the house.

It's supposed to be about 100 again today. Reece is at Petsmart again, although we couldn't get her into camp. She'll be kenneled most of the day, but at least she'll be somewhere cool. I'm trying to figure out where to go today. I may try the Kent library and see if the wireless Internet is any better there. I think I'm ok to hang out here at the house until after lunch. It's only 79 degrees outside right now.

I still have some stuff to do to get ready for SIL's visit tomorrow. I'm going to get on that right now. Most of it will have to wait until tomorrow. It's supposed to be cooler by 15-20 degrees tomorrow - still very warm for Seattle, but it will feel like a break after the temperatures we've had.

I would dearly love to take a nap. But I still have 3 hours of writing ahead of me today too and I need to work on that this morning.

It's not quite as hot as the forecast called for today. The thermometer says 92 and it's been staying at 91 or 92 for over an hour or so. I'm not sure if it'll get any hotter.

It's currently 83 in the house, which isn't insanely uncomfortable for me, so I'm just going to hang out here and finish my work today. Unless it starts getting hot, and then I'll move to the library. I just wanted to get some stuff done in preparation for Kim's arrival tomorrow, so I had dishes going earlier and a little laundry going now.

I also hung some stuff on the walls. I've now have a 3rd matted and framed photograph hanging in the guest room above the bed. The bottom 2 were taken last year at Niagara Falls, and the top one (the new addition) was taken earlier this month at Franklin Park Conservatory.

We are still trying to decide a paint color for that room. I may just stick with white and let the accessories stand out. The pillow shams and decor are all bright and colorful.

So...got quite a bit accomplished today.

Anyway, I need to get some more writing done. I've only put in half an hour today but that's because I was busy dusting and framing and hanging things.

*blink*

Lance and I got ballots today for the August primary.

Among the choices for King County Executive is "Goodspaceguy."

Lance laughed when he saw this, and thought it was some kind of hilarious typo. He even said he was going to vote for Goodspaceguy, since it had to be a glitch on the ballot.

Oh...but wait! This isn't a typo!

This guy is for real.

Apparently, he also ran for senate.

I am intrigued and amused. But I probably won't vote in the primaries anyway because I have no idea who any of these people are. Well, except for this one.
