Under my skin
Aug. 25th, 2009 01:21 pmI have the tiniest of splinters in my right hand, in the fleshy part of my palm just under my thumb. It's actually from a nettle, I think. Probably got it when I was playing frisbee with Reece in the backyard.
It's too tiny to get out with tweezers, but just large enough to be annoying when I rest my hands on the laptop. It's driving me crazy!
In other news, I was kind of excited that it felt so autumnal this morning. We had a brief rain shower and it was cool all morning. I had corn soup for lunch, followed by a hot cup of tea. But the sun was just out and warmed things up a bit, so summer came back. It'll stay around for awhile, which is fine with me. I just liked that little touch of fall, which is my favorite season (and I still don't know why, since it leads to winter, which is my least favorite season).
I'm trying to talk Lance into going to Everett this weekend. I talked to my SIL yesterday...she called from Guam. I guess they have two possibilities here in Washington (again!) and Everett is one of them. So because I know so little about Everett, other than it's scenic and it has a lot of parks, I want to go up there and check it out and see what it's like around the base. Whidbey Island is the other possibility, but I already know that's nice. I've heard nothing but good things about it.
