This is supposed to be a friends only journal, but I don't have any particular reason to make this a friends only post. So I won't. Maybe from now on I will. We shall see.

Anyway, so Lance and I have been married for 2 days. I just can't believe how fast the day went. You spend months planning. There is so much stress and so many emotional highs and lows. And in the blink of an eye, it's all over. The ceremony was 15 minutes. Honestly, our wedding ceremony was the shortest ceremony I have ever witnessed. The first thing we said to each other afterwards was, "That was so fast!" The reception was short too (despite what [livejournal.com profile] luckysushi thinks). We arrived at the reception place around 2:45 and in about 2 hours, most everyone had left and Dad was wrapping things up. All the receptions I've been to were several hours longer than that. But that's ok. It was all perfect, and we both agreed that we would do it again in a heartbeat. We wish the day would've lasted longer so we could revel in it. I just remember through the entire ceremony that I was thinking about how my shoe was about to slip off my left foot and Lance's tie was slightly crooked.

Anyway, so day 2 of married life began with a late breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Lance's family. His mom sat down and said to me, "Good morning, Mrs. Johnson." It was strange to hear, but a good strange. After we finished our meal, Lance and I went to Grandma's house to pick up my mom. Then we drove back to Columbus. I left to get my hair cut almost immediately upon arriving home. I just couldn't wait. I'd been growing it out for so long...I couldn't stand it any longer. So I got a shorter cut and it looks really cute. Rob made a pork loin on the grill...we had a nice dinner and champagne. Mom made a toast to us. Rob played Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight," because he wanted it played at the reception. So Lance and I spontaneously started dancing and Mom and Rob started to dance too. Rob told me that I was absolutely glowing on Saturday...that more than one person commented on how I was glowing. That everyone there felt it and glowed at us in return.

We opened our gifts. We got mostly money...and a lot of it too. We got some beautiful cards. And although hardly anyone decorated the blank pages I sent with the invitations (which were to be our guestbook), the pages we did get were very beautifully decorated.

I think my favorite gift was something that Paula made. She took our invitation and mounted it inside a frame surrounded by fall flowers (she asked me what flowers I was using in my bouquet and tried to get similar flowers). It is just beautiful. I was really touched.

Today we went to Wright-Patterson AFB, where I got my military id card. We had to fill out some forms, but I'm now covered on Lance's health insurance. I have to go back tomorrow for a medical examination and hopefully a dental examination. I have some paperwork to fill out regarding my mental health status...The Miami Student Counseling Center needs to fill that out to verify that my counseling there had nothing to do with a mental illness and that I wasn't under any medication or was hospitalized. So I have to go to Oxford by the end of next week. I meet with Family Advocacy on the base on Oct. 31st to turn in all the paperwork, and then within a couple of weeks of that time, I should be on my way to Germany to stay.

Lance and I watched our wedding video today. In the corner of the screen, you see my Grandma sitting there dabbing her eyes through the entire ceremony. Even before I came down the aisle, she was dabbing at her eyes. And she continued to do so all the way to the end. Unfortunately, the camera was set up to where my back was to it the entire time, and since it was sitting on a tripod and nobody was controlling it, it doesn't record my walk down the aisle. But overall, it's a good tape and I enjoyed watching it. We just have to make about 10 copies to send to people. Lance also recorded a moment in his dressing room, where he was talking about how he was trying to relax before the ceremony. He was sitting next to the stereo listening to Ozzy Osbourne.

I took the film to Cord Camera today, and it will be ready by tomorrow. I also ordered photo CD's so I can get the pictures online faster. We're going to have a lot of pictures and I didn't want to take time to scan them all individually. Photo CD's are only $4 at Cord (if I join their special club...but I'm saving over $50 on film developing and services for a $15 membership). My mom already got her pictures back, and they are pretty good, although there's a lot of red eye going on.

So anyway, I guess that's all for now. Still trying to get used to being Mrs. Johnson and signing my name that way on the forms. I don't like how I write it now, so I may have to work on changing it.
