For any who have passed the giant Jesus rising out of a pond between Cincy and Dayton (it's at some mega-church along I-75)...

Here he is all ready for yesterday's big game.

I'm sorry...but this picture provided my big laugh for the day.

(More information about mega-Jesus here).

It's at the Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio. I grew up 10 minutes from there, in the next town north. :)

It was erected after I already moved here, so I've never seen the thing in the flesh, so to speak.

Not sure that I want to.

There's some photos of it floating around the web before the hands were put on. I've seen it portrayed as "Drummer Jesus" and "Touchdown Jesus".

Honestly? The people that run the church (and have the huge horse ranch just south of the exit, I bet you've seen it) are bizarre. I attended a few services there about.. oh, 15 years ago or so. Very cult-like and weird. Inside, they have a neon dove on the ceiling... yeeeeah.

But the money they used to build that thing could have been better spent elsewhere. It's obvious that church is more about money than it is about worship.

Of course it's huge...he has to attract all the heathens off the freeway to come into the church.

Lol, "look it's a huge Jesus, come join our cult!"

Yeah, that'll get their attention.
