Jul. 4th, 2007 02:01 pmHappy Independence Day to my American friends!
I'm celebrating my independence with shopping and food. We went to the mall today and I got a new purse and wallet. And I got Frances Mayes's A Year in the World at Waldenbooks.
We ate lunch at Fazoli's. That tasted so good. Wow. Mom and I split a chocolate chip cookie, which was also really good.
Went to Old Navy after that and I got some pajama bottoms, a pair of yoga capris, and a tank top. I also found a pair of jeans that looked really great on me, but I'm unsure about getting them because they are mid-rise and they sit a little lower on my hips than I like. So I'll have to think about it. Maybe I'll find other jeans I like better.
Nothing else has been going on really. Yesterday, Mom took me to get my hair cut (she really loves it...I'm not so sure) and then we went to Target so I could spend the gift card I got for my birthday. Usually I find all kinds of things I like at Target. Yesterday...not so much. I got 3 tops...one of the $5 patriotic ones that I'm wearing now, and two sleeveless tops on clearance, but I didn't even try on the tops until I got home, and one of them I don't really like. It was cute on the rack, but not on me.
Mom, Rob and I went to the Honda dealership yesterday afternoon so that I could test drive a Fit. I really liked it, although I gave Rob whiplash. He was sitting in the backseat and all I had to do was tap ever so lightly on the gas, and I would throw him backwards against the seat. HAHA. Anyway, I'm sure that I want that car, and I think I will get used to the gas pedal eventually. Mom thinks she wants one for herself. Lance and I have to wait until we get our assignment and then we'll contact the Honda dealership in that area and order one.
We had a cookout last night - hamburgers. And we sat out on the patio for hours, drinking wine and listening to music (nothing that I listen to regularly: The Temptations, Eric Clapton, Hall & Oates, The Beatles). We skipped the big fireworks display downtown.
Well, the folks are watching a Law & Order marathon, which bores me, so I'm probably going to relax out on the patio with a book. Tomorrow, Paula is supposed to come and we're going to the zoo. I just hope I remember to have her take me to an ATM to get some cash...I only have a couple bucks left in my wallet.
